Founded in 1977 as Walnut Ridge Water Company Inc., Hampstead Area Water Company Inc. was established in 1989. In 2002 Walnut Ridge Water Company, Inc. was merged into Hampstead Area Water Company, Inc. Hampstead Area Water has continued to grow to become the third largest privately owned water system in New Hampshire. Throughout the last 30 years Hampstead Area Water has established water systems in 10 communities throughout southern new Hampshire.
