2025 Fall Flushing Schedule

Beginning Mid-September, 2025

Fall Flushing Schedule (as of September 10th, 2025)

The Hampstead Area Water Company, Inc will begin our annual Fall Water System Flushing starting in mid-September 2025. This essential maintenance helps ensure continued water quality and system reliability for our customers. By flushing our water mains, we remove naturally occurring minerals and sediment that can accumulate over time, helping to keep your water clean, fresh, and flowing efficiently throughout the year.

Why Do We Flush?

• Maintain water quality by removing naturally occurring minerals and sediment such as iron, manganese, and sediment.
• Improve system performance and water pressure.
• Prevent long-term buildup and extend system life.

Regulatory Compliance

Flushing is performed following guidance from the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES).

Routine flushing is encouraged by both agencies as a critical step in maintaining the safety and reliability of public water systems.

Please Note:

This schedule is subject to change due to weather or operational needs. We will update this page as needed to keep you informed.

During flushing, you may experience temporary water pressure fluctuations or discoloration. We recommend minimizing water use during these times and running cold water afterward if necessary. The water remains safe to use.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we maintain the safety and quality of your water service. Should you have any questions please contact us at 603-362-4299 or email
