Why Do We Flush?
- Maintain water quality by removing iron, manganese, and sediment.
- Improve system performance and maintain optimal water pressure.
- Prevent long-term buildup and extend the overall lifespan of the water distribution system.
Regulatory Compliance
All flushing activities are performed in accordance with the guidelines of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES), which identifies routine flushing as an essential component in maintaining the safety, quality, and reliability of public water systems.
What to Expect During Flushing
During this time, you may experience temporary water pressure fluctuations or slight discoloration. We recommend minimizing water use while flushing is in progress.
If you notice discoloration, running cold water for several minutes typically resolves the issue. Please be assured the water remains safe for use.
