Emergency Leak Repair – Providence Hill Road, Atkinson
Water Service Interruption on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Hampstead Area Water Company, Inc. (HAWC) is currently responding to an emergency water main leak on Providence Hill Road in Atkinson. Repair work is scheduled for, Thursday, May 7th, 2026, and will require a temporary water service interruption from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for customers in the affected area.
What to Expect
Water service will be temporarily interrupted between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM for customers in the affected area.
The following areas in Atkinson will be impacted by a temporary water service interruption during the repair:
- Windmill Lane
- Moccasin Path
- Even-numbered homes on Walker Road up to #26
- Providence Hill Road
What You Should Do
Once water service is restored, some customers may notice temporary discoloration. This is normal following system repairs.
If discoloration persists after 4:00 PM, we recommend:
- Running your cold-water tap for 10–15 minutes to help flush your lines
