Mandatory Water Ban in Effect for Atkinson and Hampstead Core

Hampstead Area Water Company • June 24, 2020

*IMPORTANT NOTICE*
Mandatory Outdoor Watering Ban Atkinson and Hampstead Core System

Due to the lack of substantial precipitation, extremely dry conditions, temporary reductions in yield due to system upgrades, and expected drought conditions Hampstead Area Water Company, Inc (HAWC) is forced  to place a mandatory watering ban on all outdoor watering within the Atkinson and Hampstead Core system.

What this means to you:

Effective Friday June 26th, ALL outdoor watering is PROHIBITED. This ban is in effect until further notice.  The ban will stay in place until conditions allow the ban to be lifted. Irrigation systems and lawn watering  must be discontinued. Hand‐held hoses and watering cans will be permitted for use in your vegetable and flower gardens.

Previously in effect was an odd/even schedule and restriction of times during those days. Due to non‐compliance and excessive use of the previous policy and lack of immediate response to notice sent on June 18, 2020 asking for a 50% reduction in outdoor watering your water supply continues to diminish making the new watering ban necessary.

Please be advised that the watering ban will be strictly enforced. The first offense will result in a written notice for failure to comply. Subsequent offenses will result in disconnection of water service as well as fees. For further questions or violations please contact our office at 362‐4299

For any questions please contact the office at 603‐362‐4299 or email customerservice@hampsteadwater.com

If you observe violations to the ban, we ask that you report it right away be calling 603‐362‐4299 or emailing customerservice@hampsteadwater.com. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Please visit our website www.hampsteadwater.com for updates regarding the watering ban and drought
conditions.

Any and all water conservation in addition to the ban is appreciated. We would like to thank you in advance
for your assistance in following this mandatory watering ban.

Sincerely,
Charlie Lanza
